The role:
Due to internal progression, we have an opportunity for an experienced Planner/Programmer to join Symal’s Infrastructure business, supporting projects for a key client.

Your impact:
As a Planner/Programmer you will efficiently manage complex programs, utilising relevant software to ensure projects are meeting their contractual delivery obligations.

Your every day:
•    Supporting the project teams to ensure allocated projects have an accurate and detailed program, which ensures the delivery of a safe, profitable and high-quality job, on time and within budget
•    Contribute to the identification of risks and opportunities in construction schedules, resulting from methodology, weather, resourcing or other factors
•    Assist Project Managers in report interpretation, analysis of project performance and development corrective actions
•    Support the site team in their reporting and interaction with the client as it relates to project programming
•    Interfacing with the client for management of the planning function in accordance with established procedures
•    Ensure project programs meet all client Program Reporting requirements as per the client PDA, including Schedule Performance Index, Earned Value, Construction Performance Index and Planned Value reporting
•    Support the pre-contracts teams as required, in the development and/or review of tender programs

Who are you?
•    Tertiary degree, preferably in either Civil Engineering or Project Management
•    More than 3 years’ experience in a Planning or Programming role within the construction industry, preferably working on Roads, Infrastructure or Major Projects
•    Proven competency with industry standard planning software – Primavera P6 and MS Project is essential
•    Ability to collaboratively develop and manage complex programmes
•    Clear written and verbal communication with ability to establish relationships at all levels of organisation
•    Enjoy working part of a team where respectful, collaborative and honest communication with all stakeholders is valued
•    Ability to travel to and work from the site office in Pakenham, Victoria
