The Director of Schools invites applications from suitably experienced educators for this full time position in the Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing Team Learning at Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong commencing 31 January 2025 until 28 January 2028. The initial appointment will be for a period of three years with a right of return to school.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Education Officer - Curriculum Implementation Support is a member of the Improvement Learning and Wellbeing Team - Learning K-12. The successful applicant in this position will work predominantly with teachers of students in Kindergarten to Year 6 but will be required to have an understanding of literacy and numeracy K-12. It is expected that the successful applicant will also support the mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Wollongong and promote the strategic direction document, "Lighting the Way" through the Continuous Catholic School Improvement Framework.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-graduate study in a relevant discipline.
  • Accreditation in accordance with the ‘Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong’ policy (or a commitment to acquiring within a 5 year period).
  • Current driver’s licence

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Support teachers in the areas of literacy and numeracy to improve pedagogy, leading to improved learning outcomes.
  • Support schools to develop quality programs aligned to new curriculum across KLA's.
  • Interpret and respond to data to improve student learning outcomes.
  • Model best practice in pedagogy and collaborate to manage the sharing of best practice across schools.
  • Ensure effective professional learning for teachers and leaders.
  • Manage collaboration and sharing of effective practice of literacy and numeracy across schools.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE

This role is classified as a child related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.
