Role Specific Accountabilities:

Develop a meticulous understanding of the F1 car environment that the PU experiences and the challenges of the Grand Prix weekends that make up a FIA world championship. Be part of the team that drives forward a factory based facility that tests the PU in an environment that mimics the most extreme F1 car conditions prior to the start of a championship.

Be in the driving seat of our factory test facilities and execute the test run plans required to ensure all power unit running modes, service schedules and race weekend processes are validated in the factory facilities ahead of the championship.

Continually develop test processes through the year, pushing the PU operational limits to ensure all available PU performance is successfully validated and available for use during the race weekend. 

Combine all of the above to become an acknowledged PU expert with excellent opportunities to run engines in the Dyno’s at factory or become responsible for running the PU trackside at World Championship events.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

Essential        

Good awareness across all areas of Power Train & Hybrid System architecture

Familiarity with dyno running and operation

Strong attention to detail

Excellent in data analysis and prognosis

Ability to develop and create new analysis methods 

Desirable       

Previous experience in running high performance engines and hybrid systems

 

Qualifications

Essential

Degree with 2:1 classification or above in a relevant engineering subject (Eg Mechanical Engineering, Physics etc)     

Desirable

A post graduate qualification in a relevant engineering subject (Masters, PhD etc)
