Test Group Leader

Mercedes AMG HPP are seeking an exceptional Test Group Leader to join our world championship winning team at Brixworth. The purpose of the role is to take responsibility alongside other Test Operations Group Leaders for the operation and day to day running of a selection of rigs and dynamometers that make up our Formula One and Hybrid Technical Centre Test Facilities. The Group Leaders will ensure their designated specialist areas are operated and maintained both professionally and efficiently and with the correct skill sets and equipment. They will challenge both themselves and their team continually to deliver a highly challenging and dynamic test and development program for all of the high performance programs in operation at HPP. The Group leader is also expected to contribute to the operation of the test facilities to meet these goals.

Be skilled at…

  • Engine assembly
  • Test data processing and interpretation

Have experience of…

  • At least 3 years’ experience of mechanical or electrical rig testing and test automation systems
  • Aptitude for computing, MS Office and knowledge of ECU systems would be an advantage

Demonstrate knowledge of…

  • Sound electrical or mechanical knowledge of engines and their hybrid systems

Hold these qualifications…

  • Engineering Apprenticeship/BTEC/HNC mechanical engineering preferred

Success in this role will be if you…

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of the Power Unit Test Facilities
  • Supervise and develop a team of Test technicians
  • Support instrumentation, calibration, operation & maintenance requirements for area of ownership
  • Develop your team with the required mechanical, electrical and software skills to support the operation
  • Develop and implement a facilities support strategy to include in-house skills and develop skills matrix
  • Development of test systems and test methodology
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and monitoring
  • Report to the Manager of the Test Operations Department
  • Facility related Health, Safety and Environmental Management
