CNC machine tool maintenance technician

Purpose of the role is to… • Responsibility for both the reactive and planned maintenance of machine tools and automation equipment within manufacturing, in order to produce engine components in a safe and timely manner with the aim to ensure minimal possible disruption and down time to production. • To work to a high standard at all times to ensure the machines are maintained to a level to ensure process capability. • Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out; ensure that reactive repairs are carried out to all machine tool equipment and systems to meet customer and business expectations. • Ensure that suitable replacement parts are ordered and spare part stocks are maintained. • Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of Job request task sheets being completed or the correct use of a Remote device.

Be skilled at…

  • Fault finding on various machines tools including lathes, Mill-turns, 5 axis machining centres, Grinding machines, welding machines, washing equipment & FMS systems.
  • Operating machine controls to fault find, basic programming skills to allow machines to be ran and tested after repair.
  • Testing electrical systems and replacement of components.
  • Stripping down and rebuilding mechanical systems.
  • The ability to fault find and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Have experience of…

  • Detailed machine knowledge and hands on ability to investigate, repair or correct on site equipment
  • Experience of maintaining Pumps, Motors and Valves.
  • CNC control systems, inc Fanuc, Siemens etc.
  • Experience of hydraulic & Pneumatic systems.
  • Working to Planned Preventative Maintenance Regimes

Demonstrate knowledge of…

  • Comprehensive mechanical and electrical engineering experience, undertaking reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast paced, highly dynamic and constantly demanding environment.

Hold these qualifications…

  • Engineering qualification discipline (mechanical, Electrical, C&G, BTEC, etc)
  • Three to five years’ experience within m/c tool engineering in a production environment or a related development environment.
  • Or extensive experience within another recognised electrical / Mechanical maintenance environment where sufficient skills have been obtained to allow easy and smooth transition.

  • PASMA  ( Working at height )
  • PAT   ( Portable appliance testing )
  • Fork lift truck licence
  • Crane operation qualification
  • F-Gas / Refrigeration qualification
  • Excellent IT skills and conversant with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, , BMS Controls (Siemens)
