Mercedes AMG HPP are seeking an exceptional NDT Lead Technician to join our world championship winning team at Brixworth. The purpose of the role is to be the technical HPP NDT expert reporting to the Head of Quality to drive, standardise, improve, and manage NDT processes at HPP. You will be accountable for processes, standards, faults, continuous improvement, training, and audits.

THEREFORE WE NEED YOU TO...

Be skilled at...

  • Technical expert on NDT processes with main focus on dye penetrant and Mag particle testing. With some experience in radiography and ultrasound.

Demonstrate knowledge of...

  • NDT processes and procedures.

Hold these qualifications...

  • Level 3 PCN or CSWIP in DPI and MPI minimum.

And be...

  •  NDT related faults owner.
  • An expert in NDT processes to be the first point of call for all NDT related issues within HPP.
  • Write and sign off SOPs for NDT processes.
  • Assume full responsibility for test facility and staff development.
  • Conducts internal audits to determine and action areas of improvement.
  • Translate NDT codes and standards into written NDT instructions
  • Establish, edit, review and validate NDT instructions written by Level 2s
  • Set up NDT testing Equipment.
  • Perform inspections.
  • Record, classify, and report inspection results.
  • Select penetrant technique for test method to be used.
  • Define limitations of test methods.
  • Carry out and manage PCN Level examinations on behalf of the British Institute of NDT.
  • Research and introduce new or improved methods, techniques, and equipment.
