Trackside Power Unit Engineer

• Ensure that the PU operation is maximised within the defined envelope for the Power Unit's trackside life • Work closely with the chassis partner to plan and manage the Power Unit within proven out limits and damage allocation, while providing the maximum performance available • Away from the track, this position will work closely with the factory to confirm the Power Unit’s health in preparation for following events. • Contribute to the capability of the trackside team and the performance and reliability of our trackside Power Units.

  • Applying first principles to create practical engineering solutions
  • Taking ownership of the management of Power Unit calibration
  • Trouble shooting technically; creative way of problem solving
  • Using performance analysis tools and methods, such as lap simulation
  • Dealing with ambiguity under extreme pressure and still being decisive and considered

Have experience of…

  • Operating in a trackside environment, ideally running high performance engines and hybrid systems
  • Analysing data and interpreting it in short timescales

Demonstrate knowledge of…

  • The operation of the full Power Unit Systems and their interaction with the vehicles.
  • Atlas and System Monitor

Hold these qualifications…

  • Degree with 2:1 classification or above in a relevant Engineering subject (Mechanical, Electrical, Physics)
