Here at Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains, based at our Technology Centre in Brixworth Northamptonshire, we are pleased to announce the launch of our Work Experience Academy programme. As part of this we are looking to fill a temporary vacancy, which will help us towards our 2021 and 2022 Formula E and F1 World Championship campaigns in our Engine Build Department.

We have structured the role to be an entry level position and they are therefore a great opportunity for the successful candidates to gain 12 months of paid work experience in a world class environment and multiple F1 World Championship winning team.

This role is ideal for anyone wanting a career change or looking for an opportunity to gain experience within FE/F1.

We will be offering the following:

  • 1 year paid work experience placements as a Build Support Engineer within the Formula E Engine Build Department.
  • Relevant on the job training that will allow applicants to build their transferable skills.
  • Gain experience working in a team who cover the following:
    • Responsible for the day-to-day engineering within the engine build support team
    • Build processes – production and maintenance to ensure accurate build
    • Build tooling – identification, implementation and maintenance of new tooling and updates to existing
    • Cleco tooling – support implementation and maintenance of Cleco system.  Convert ECN requirements into programmes and introduce into the engine programmes.  Be available to support technical user issues.
    • New engine and phase update readiness - ensure tooling and processes in place in a timely manner
    • Support development, introduction and maintenance of build conformation checks
    • Support assessment and introduction of new build technology.  Identify opportunities for this as well.
    • Support maintenance of green calibration status
    • Support the maintenance of Build QMS procedures
    • Database administration and improvement opportunities
    • Fault investigation and problem solving    
  • £33,000 annual salary
  • Statutory holiday and pension contributions

We are looking for hardworking Engineering Graduates with a good relevant degree experience with a high level of computer proficiency.
