This role is to provide first line technical fault knowledge and support for all the test facilities. This will include resolving and providing key solutions on electrical, mechanical and control issues that could arise with the breakdown of any engine, rig or battery test facility

To take accountability and resolve issues that may arise include problems with fluid conditioning systems (oil, water & fuel), electrical wiring issues, breakers, resets and software reconfigure on all ‘Testbed’ automation systems

To make decisive judgements on time sensitive and critical operational solutions by collaborating with the wider test teams, stakeholders and external suppliers

Alongside Test Support activities, there will be Automation and Control System Project work – ranging from new configuration for the Testbed control systems for a new test process (typically using/in the PUMA environment) or assisting in the design and implementation of a new test rig and equipment that requires instrumentation and control functionality (at typical example could be a requirement to code in Labview or S7-1200).

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

The successful applicant will possess a good working knowledge of engine and rig test facilities. As such will possess a wide range of skills and experience covering both the electrical, mechanical and software aspects of the test facilities:

Knowledge of AVL Puma Systems

Test Bed automation and control experience

Electrical wiring and fault finding experience

Mechanical fault finding experience

Previous experience of supporting Engine and Rig Test Beds
