Be skilled at…

  • Finding and developing innovative concepts that deliver performance
  • Exploiting performance opportunities using simulation tools
  • Adopting best practice in the implementation of simulation tools and calculation methods
  • Generating performance proposals based on validated simulation tools
  • Developing predictive accuracy against measured PU performance
  • Engaging with Product Engineering & Performance Engineering colleagues on design and testing activity related to performance gain and model validation
  • Analysis of simulation & test data, reporting and making further recommendations
  • Creativity in problem solving and inventing new performance ideas
  • Working quickly on own initiative
  • Communicating complex engineering

Have experience of…

  • Compressor and turbine stage thermofluid and mechanical design process
  • Detailed aerodynamic design of turbomachinery using CFD
  • Turbocharger operability
  • Simulate-make-test development loops

Demonstrate knowledge of…

  • Turbomachinery aerodynamic & mechanical design constraints
  • Internal combustion engine gas exchange & thermodynamics
  • Best practise in applying simulation methods, results analysis and reporting

Hold these qualifications…

  • High grade degree in a relevant engineering subject
  • Higher degree involving CFD is desirable

Success in this role will be if you:

 • Achieve Power Unit performance and laptime targets for each new phase through optimal turbomatching & improved aerodynamic designs.
