The Faculty of Health is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching, learning, creativity, social development, and groundbreaking research and discovery. This role will specifically be working within the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences.

About the role:

The Lecturer will teach in the area of dietetics and lead unit teaching teams in UG and/or PG programs to improve the student learning experience and outcomes. The position will initiate, design and conduct productive, high-quality, scholarship activities to enhance student experience and teaching learning outcomes in their discipline area.

This position is suited to a person with an emerging record and passion for learning and teaching, a keen interest in contributing to community engagement for teaching and employability.

As a Lecturer in Dietetics, Education-focused, you will:

• Lead unit teaching teams and work collaboratively with other unit teaching teams in the course to develop effective unit curricula and learning resources (including through unit leadership roles). Contribute to the review of units and courses and implement refinements.
• Assist in applying industry, clinical and/or research practice into student learning experiences, success, engagement and resources.
• Adopt innovation in curriculum design at the unit level and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels / modes of delivery. Maintain deep discipline knowledge which is applied to inform unit design.
• Design collaborative learning opportunities at the unit level. Support diverse learners by designing accessible and inclusive unit material and practices.
• Assist in integrating contemporary research in the discipline and/or pedagogical research within courses and units designed to improve student outcomes.
• Advance knowledge through discipline related research and/or pedagogical research.

To be successful, you’ll have:

• PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience.
• Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design.
• Experience in developing curricula and/or resources that reflect an understanding of nutrition and dietetics.
• Must be an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD), or eligible for membership with Dietitians Australia, and once APD membership achieved, be willing to maintain their APD status.
• Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning.
• Ability to deliver effective teaching practices to improve student success and engagement.
