ABOUT THE ROLE

Casual Occupational Therapy assistant required for a position based at our 40 bed residential care facility set in the picturesque Perth Hills - Parry Care Centre. This role would suit an experienced therapy assistant who is flexible to work 3-4 shifts per week.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting resident’s physical, emotional, social, psychological and spiritual wellbeing through care delivery
  • Consistently refer to the resident’s care plan to ensure relevant care is delivered and adjust as required
  • Planning, organising and implementing therapeutic activities and outings under the direction of the Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist 
  • Facilitate meaningful 1:1 and group sessions and adapt these to better suit resident's needs as required
  • Document resident’s responses to treatment programs and report to OT/PT/RN
  • Communicating effectively with residents, families and team members

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will be passionate about creating new and exciting sessions for our residents and will have the ability to work independently as well as being a strong team player. To be considered for this role you will have;

  • 12 months' experience as an OTA in an Aged Care environment 
  • Cert III in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent
  • Previous experience coordinating group activities and providing 1:1 therapy
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Valid Police Clearance less than 6 months old
