About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Registered Nurse with excellent interpersonal skills, to lead our Medical Unit at Noosa Hospital. 

As Nurse Unit Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day clinical and operational management of our 32 bed Medical unit, supported by a team of CNs, RNs, & EENs, and working with the multidisciplinary team and Visiting Medical Officers. 

Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, and as a part of the management team, you will work with and support nursing staff in achieving excellence in care delivery in line with best practice and legislative requirements. 

The successful candidate will supervise, lead, direct and motivate staff to achieve outcomes with the ability to manage financial and human resources.

This key leadership role will see you:

  • Apply advanced nursing practices in planning, implementing and evaluating care in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards
  • Be a positive mentor and provide clinical leadership and support to your team
  • Effectively manage roster processes and allocate duties to clinical staff
  • Demonstrated ability to manage challenging situations
  • Demonstrated high level of communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Working with and supporting other managers within the wider hospital community in achieving excellence in patient outcomes 
  • Assist in shaping organisational strategy, improve procedural service provision and achieve departmental and Hospital strategic objectives.

 

About You

You will have exceptional communication skills and the ability to inspire, motivate and mentor your team. You will be a leader with a passion for seeing your team members succeed and grow while bringing a passion for a high level of clinical care and service.

  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience in general /medical environment
  • Experience in managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering and performance management
  • Previous experience as a senior nurse or manager will be highly regarded
  • Strong leadership skills and confident with delegating duties 

 

Remuneration

A base hourly rate ranging from $65.84 - $71.24 + superannuation based on relevant experience and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (QLD NUM/MUM level 1 – 4).

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
