The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our team on a part-time basis (63 hrs per fortnight), supporting patients across multiple hospital departments.

In this rewarding role, you will play a key part in ensuring patient comfort, dignity, and safety while helping to maintain the smooth operation of the hospital. This position is ideal for someone with a Certificate III in Aged Care or Health Services who is passionate about delivering high-quality care in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

 

As a PCA, you will:

  • Provide direct patient care, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
  • Safely transport patients as required.
  • Support clinical teams by monitoring vital signs, assisting with ECGs, and recording accurate observations.
  • Contribute to a safe and welcoming environment, always prioritising patient wellbeing and comfort.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clinical staff in providing high-quality care and patient support.
  • Provide safe patient transport using hospital-approved equipment and vehicles.
  • Assist patients on admission and ensure they are settled comfortably.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in patient rooms and shared areas, in line with infection control standards.

 

About You

You thrive in a busy hospital setting, adapt quickly to changing demands, and consistently uphold the highest standards of care and professionalism. You are empathetic, reliable, and a strong team player, committed to ensuring positive experiences for patients and their families.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care, Health Services, or Care Support (desirable).
  • Experience working in a clinical hospital setting.
  • Strong understanding of infection control, manual handling, and hospital safety procedures.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.

Desirable qualifications and experience:

  • Certificate IV in Health Services Assistance.

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
