About the Role

As the Stomal Therapy Nurse you will be responsible for providing quality and expert nursing care to patients and families of those with stomas and wounds. You will facilitate the coordination of care and education during the pre and post-operative period and provide ongoing care as required post discharge. To be successful you will be a professional and experienced Stomal Therapy Nurse with highly developed clinical, communication and problem solving skills.

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant nursing registration with AHPRA and minimum two (2) years’ experience in Stomal Therapy Nursing
  • Graduate Certificate in Stomal Therapy Nursing or willing to undertake
  • Advanced level understanding and knowledge in wound care and pressure injury staging and management
  • Advanced understanding of ANMC competencies as per nursing registration
  • Proven ability to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate care delivery needs of patients
  • Positive role model with excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service
  • Organised, efficient and professional with highly developed clinical problem solving skills and advanced skills in nursing assessment
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within the multidisciplinary team
