We are seeking Case Preparation Assistants, Operating Theatre Assistants and Patient Care Assistants to join our Operating Theatre and Gastroenterology teams at Greenslopes Private Hospital in Brisbane.
There are multiple permanent full-time, part-time and casual roles available.
About the Roles
We have three role types available supporting the Operating Theatre and Gastroenterology departments at Greenslopes Private Hospital, who provide surgical services across 19 operating theatres and 7 procedure rooms, which combined are one of the largest private surgical departments in Queensland.
Patient Care Assistants
In this role you will be assisting the clinical team, including Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses, in the provision of services and care for patients. Specifically, you will be supporting the care of patients in the admission and recovery stages of their surgical procedures. This can involve mobility support, providing meals and making them feel comfortable post-surgery. Certificate III in Health Services is highly desirable for this role.
Operating Theatre Assistants
In this role you will provide support and assistance to patients in the operating theatre under the direction and instruction of nursing and medical staff. This can include duties relating to preparation of the theatre environment and transporting or positioning of the patient, under the guidance of the Perioperative Manager.
Case Preparation Assistants
In this role you will be responsible for assembling, disassembling and managing theatre case set-ups in accordance with operating lists. This will involve working closely with the Sterilisation and Theatre teams to ensure they have the equipment necessary for procedures. Scope cleaning experience, while not essential, will be highly regarded for this role.
All of these positions are key elements of the surgical process and the ability to quickly and efficiently manage your caseload will directly affect the care of patients.
In these roles you will report to the Nurse Unit Manager and work closely with a professional supportive team.
These are the perfect roles to kick off your career in the Health industry. You will bring exceptional communication skills and have the ability to work in a fast paced environment. The flexibility to handle a rotating roster with weekend and evening shifts will also be key for this role.

- Previous experience in a theatre / hospital environment will be highly desirable.
- Scope cleaning experience will be highly desirable for the Case Preparation Assistant role specifically.
