An opportunity currently exists for a Registered Nurse to join the Palliative / Oncology / Haematology. This is a permanent part-time role at 56 hours per fortnight, covering a 7 day rotating roster. 

The Palliative / Oncology / Haematology / Medical Ward specialises in cancer care both in early diagnosis and end-stage disease, and has a designated lounge area extending out to a lovely garden area for patients and family.  It comprises of a 28 bed department, all with private rooms, which includes 2 large palliative care rooms. 

About You

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be supported and guided by a close knit team to ensure a high level of quality patient care is delivered in line with the care values and strategic direction of the Hospital and Ramsay Health Care. You will assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate care delivery needs of patients. 

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have exceptional customer service, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and will also meet the following criteria:

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Recent experience in a Palliative/Oncology/Haematology ward within an acute care setting
  • Excellent work ethic and time management skills
  • Knowledge of Quality / Continuous Improvement processes
  • High level problem solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Excellent work ethic and time management skills
  • Ability to successfully work as a team member 
  • Chemotherapy experience is preferred
