About the Role
Cairns Private Hospital is a modern, well-equipped facility offering comprehensive range of medical and allied services with first-class care for the people of the region. Our maternity unit is a 17-bed antenatal/postnatal unit with 3 birthing suites and has a team comprised of experienced clinicians committed to delivering a quality standard of care.
In the role of a Clinical Midwife, you will contribute to, and participate in, the education of all levels of staff by being involved in department orientation, in-servicing and clinical competence programs, as well as undertaking mental, social and physical assessments, treatment and delivery of continuing care / case management for Maternity patients and Neonates.
As a Clinical Midwife, you will bring leadership skills and provided a high level of quality care to all parents and neonates, in line with the core values and strategic direction of the hospital. You will have demonstrated leadership experience and an advanced level of clinical practice skills with the ability to plan and coordinate patient care. You will possess knowledge in the understanding of the principles and clinical governance and its application to this role.
You will also bring:
- Relevant registration with AHPRA;
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a CN;
- Experience in birth suites is essential
- High level of interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
- Experience in liaising with family members, a broad range of health professionals and community agencies.

$90,086 - $96,370 + Superannuation per annum based on experience level in accordance to the QLD Enterprise Agreement.
