We are seeking a motivated Manager of Health Information Services with appropriate knowledge and skills to provide leadership to our Health Information Services and Clinical Coding team. 

This position requires an experienced Manager of Health Information Services with knowledge of private health episode funding; legislation and data reporting. This position must have excellent communication and problem solving skills, as the role will need to work closely with the Executive team. The Manager will be a supportive role model and be vital in leading a successful team of administrative and clinical coding functions, assisting them to achieve targets and goals.

 

About the Role

The Manager of Health Information Services holds a key leadership and management role within the hospital and is responsible for the coordination and management of Health Information Services and Clinical Coding Department.  You will be responsible for ensuring best practice, driving efficiencies, building strong relationships internally and externally whilst making a valuable contribution to the Hospital continuous improvement process.

You will be required to work collaboratively with other senior members of the hospital management team to ensure department functions and systems support the business needs of the hospital.

This role will see you reporting directly to the Commercial Manager. 

 

About You

This position requires an experienced Manager of Health Information Services with knowledge of private health episode funding; legislation and data reporting. To be successful you must have excellent communication skills, problem solving abilities and the ability to work to tight deadlines. 

You will also demonstrate;

  • Diploma/ Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent)
  • Eligible for or membership with the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA)
  • Previous health information management experience including records management
  • Knowledge of private hospital episode funding
  • A minimum of five (5) years hospital medical records experience.
  • A high level of computer literacy
  • Exceptional relationship building skills
  • Working knowledge of Patient Management System
