Cairns Private Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, positive and driven Clinical Nurse to join our Cardiac/Medical Ward in a permanent position.
There are full time and part time opportunities available to work across a seven (7) day rotating shift.
About the Role
Working within our Cardiac/Medical Ward that specialises in cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, respiratory medicine and dermatology, you will join our high performing and energetic team, and be responsible for the effective and efficient coordination of clinical services. Acting as a professional resource and demonstrating broad knowledge in all facets of caring for patients, you will contribute to, and participate in, the education of all levels of staff being involved in department orientation, in servicing and clinical competence programs.
Working with peers, and liaising with the Nurse Unit Manager and Educators to drive education within the unit, you will make a valuable contribution to Cairns Private Hospital’s continuous improvement processes and work within a respected and friendly team.
To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong clinical skillset within a hospital setting and have experience working in a cardiac and medical ward. Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will assist in supervising, leading, directing and motivating staff to achieve outcomes and develop both personally and professionally.
You will also bring:
- Relevant registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- A minimum of four (4) years post registration experience
- Experience working in a cardiac and medical ward
- Understanding scope of practice
- Ability to manage designated portfolio and display sound leadership skills
- Demonstrated knowledge / experience in accreditation processes, clinical indicators and other quality projects
- Ability to work within a team structure and independently as required

Base annual salary for a full time Clinical Nurse is $90,087.03 - $96,375.05 (dependent on years of nursing service), not including shift allowances or penalty rates.
