A wonderful opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse to lead and support our Mental Health Unit, which has recently expanded.


About the Role

The Hollywood Clinic is a private voluntary acute inpatient mental health unit comprising of 101 beds.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Clinical Nurse to join our hard working, enthusiastic and dynamic inpatient team. Our nursing staff is recruited to provide a high level of individualised care to patients with a wide variety of mental health disorders.

As a Clinical Nurse, your role will involve, but is not limited to;

  • Providing clinical care for patients utilising specialist knowledge;
  • Maintaining a high level of nursing care to all patients;
  • Assessing patient education needs & deliver education to patients & their families;
  • Supervising the performance of nursing procedures to ensure competent, safe care is delivered within best practice and statutory guidelines; and
  • In partnership with the Manager of the Unit and Educators develop, implement and evaluate the unit training and education program.


About You

Essential Criteria:

  • Currently registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an acute inpatient mental health unit
  • Ability to function effectively in a team environment, and willingness to support novice staff
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Experience leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team
  • Willingness to accept and promote the Hollywood Private Hospital Core Values
  • Experience in quality improvement and a demonstrated commitment to improving patient care
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to provide patient centred care
  • Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act & associated regulatory frameworks

Candidates who meet the following criteria will be highly regarded:

  • Experience working with eating disordered patients
  • Ability to facilitate psychoeducation groups
  • Experience working with Electoconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
  • Experience working with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)



On offer is a full-time equivalent salary ranging from $92,289 to $98,055 + Superannuation per annum based on experience level for Clinical Nurses.

Please note these rates are full time equivalent, are exclusive of any loadings or penalties and will vary depending on the number of hours you are contracted to.
