We are seeking a dynamic leader to manage the operational and strategic direction of our metropolitan Melbourne network of hospitals which includes Waverley and Mitcham Private Hospitals. Reporting to the regional Operations Executive Manager, the Chief Executive Officer will be directly responsible for leading the hospital management teams, fostering strong relationships with Visiting Medical Officers and actively seeking out new growth and expansion opportunities, while ensuring that the business meets its financial and operational objectives.
Supported by two Directors of Clinical Services and one Commercial Manager who works with you across the two sites, you will inspire your teams to ensure the highest standards of customer service and clinical care.

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly accomplished and motivated health care executive, who possesses effective management skills, strong financial acumen and excellent interpersonal communication skills. You will have a thorough understanding of issues surrounding workforce planning and be able to provide the necessary leadership and direction to managers and staff. You will be self-motivated with a strong focus on patient experience, organisational efficiency and employee engagement, influencing strategic change as required.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have the following criteria:
- The ability to work collaboratively with a broad array of stakeholders;
- A minimum of 5 years’ private hospital experience at a senior management level;
- Extensive medical business development experience;
- Exceptional leadership, communication and negotiation skills;
- Experience in applying quality improvement processes and organisational change;
- Broad and extensive knowledge of financial management principles including capital & operational budget management; and
- Capability to build teams, develop people and achieve high performance.
- Formal management qualifications;
- Experience leading across multiple campuses;
- A solid understanding of the Victorian private health care sector.

Mitcham Private Hospital is a 121 bed acute medical, surgical, maternity and mental health facility. The hospital has 5 operating theatres, a 3 bed High Dependency Unit, 5 birth suites, a Level 2 Special Care Nursery and a a 21 bed purpose built Adult Mental Health Unit, providing both adult inpatient and outpatient programs.
Waverley Private Hospital in Mount Waverley is a 98 bed surgical facility offering medical, surgical, maternity and oncology services. With 7 operating theatres, including a Day Procedure Unit, 3 birthing suites and a Special Care Nursery.
Both facilities offer Maternity Services and postnatal services with dedicated birth suites, a Level 2 Special Care Nursery and an Early Parenting Centre.
