We are seeking an experienced and proactive clinician who specialises in Emergency/Critical Care that is ready to take the next step in their career. Permanent part-time opportunity (56 hours per fortnight).
About the Role
Our Accident an Emergency Department delivers high-quality 24-hour emergency care with an emphasis on the delivery of 5-star quality services. Our busy unit averages more than 22,000 emergencies per annum with each patient being cared for by a team of specialist doctors and nurses with extensive experience in providing immediate and follow-up care.
As the Clinical Nurse you will be required to act as a professional resource across the scope of the unit in all facets of caring for patients whilst problem solving within the clinical setting. This role will involve day-to-day problem solving within the clinical setting and fostering a positive, friendly and supportive culture within our dedicated and professional nursing team. This is a direct leadership role and you will be mentoring and supporting the front-line team members within their roles.
In this role you will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to ensure the department is safe, effective, and follows best practice.
To succeed in this role you will bring a strong clinical skillset in a hospital setting as a trained Nurse with a passion for client care and a high standard of customer-focused service. You will have exceptional communication skills and will be a passionate mentor with the capability to support and assist in the leadership of a team of health professionals. The flexibility to handle a 7 day rotating roster with on call components will be required for this role.
Specialty experience in Emergency Care will be essential to this role.
You will also bring;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Emergency nursing role
- Post Graduate qualifications in Critical Care Nursing (preferred emergency specific)
- Completion of ALS (adult and paediatric) and triage competency
- Strong leadership and time management skills
- Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Floor coordinating experience desirable
