We have an exciting opportunity for a professional, highly motivated and dedicated After Hours Coordinator to join our team at Glenferrie Private Hospital in this Permanent Part Time opportunity offering a minimum of 57 hours per fortnight.
About the role
This is a key leadership role that is accountable for efficient and effective use of resources within the hospital after hours. This will include timely bed management strategies, patient flow and resource allocation. The role requires working with and supporting other managers in planning, implementing and evaluating practices, processes and services within the hospital. The position will work closely with the Director of Clinical Services & Nursing Unit Managers and suit an experienced surgical nurse wishing to take a step in pursuit of a higher level management opportunity
To be successful in this role, you will bring extensive clinical skills and experience in surgical nursing, ideally with experience acting as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager. You will hold a passion for delivering high standards of client care, prior Orthopaedic experience will also be highly regarded. You will also demonstrate creative and innovative leadership and have the ability to empower staff and foster a culture that is positive, honest, supportive and forward thinking.
- Registered Nurse with prior surgical experience, orthopaedic experience desirable
- Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills
- An understanding of human resource management practices
- Knowledge related to legislation and policy that governs nursing practice and contemporary nursing issues
- An ability to act as an effective role model in the area of clinical practice.
- Post graduate qualifications in a clinical specialty area
- Post graduate qualifications in management or working towards
- Previous experience in a management position
- Previous experience working in a private hospital environment
