Nurse Unit Manager – Scrub Scout

Join our team at Wollongong Private Hospital in this Permanent Full Time key leadership opportunity!


The Opportunity

Our operating theatres offer a range of specialties including Robotics, Neuro, Orthopaedics, Upper GI, Major General, Plastics and soon to start Cardiothoracic.

In this role, you will be taking on the full management of our Scrub Scout Nursing team and will be accountable for the efficient and effective management of all human & material resources. This role encompasses planning, implementing and evaluating all practices, processes and clinical services of the unit.

This opportunity will see you as part of the management team at Wollongong Private and supported by a team of Clinical Nurses, educators and quality leads.  The Nurse Unit Manager reports to Perioperative Services Manager and is supported through empowering leadership and opportunity for growth.


About You

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a strong commitment to quality care and evidence based practice.  The successful candidate with need to demonstrate their ability to be solution focused and implement change principles to meet growth and demand.  Customer focus is a priority in all aspects of care delivered in line with Ramsay's core values. The successful applicant is required to provide support and mentorship to the team in all areas of management and facilitate opportunities for the team

You will also bring;

  • Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • 5 years minimum relevant experience as a Nurse in a Theatre setting
  • Prior experience at a Nurse Unit Manager level
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of perioperative services with sound knowledge of ACORN standards
  • Strong desire to successfully enhance team performance and experience
  • Ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate a continuous improvement program
  • Relevant post-graduate specialty qualifications and/or management qualifications



On offer is a full time equivalent salary of:

  • $115,690 – $124,438 plus superannuation + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
