We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and positive Clerk to join our respected Private Patient Liaison Team at Joondalup Health Campus on a casual basis.
About the Role
Working within our Finance and Emergency departments, you will be responsible for ensuring private patients are eligible for admission; both planned and unplanned admissions.
This will include completing health fund checks with private insurances, admitting patients into Meditech, preparing informed financial consents, dealing with worker’s compensation admissions, attending to patient queries regarding accounts, collecting patient payments. You will be required to liaise with patients, their families, doctors, clinical staff, ward and hospital staff, and insurance companies. In addition to this, you will also be responsible for running daily reports to view unsigned claims, organise funding for discharge services (HITH).
The Private Patient Liaison Team is grouped into 2 roles – Estimates Clerk and the Patient Liaison Officer (PLO). The Estimates Clerk is responsible for planned elective admissions and the PLO is responsible for current inpatients. You will be rostered across both positions.
Acting in a professional manner and always maintaining confidentially, you will report to the Estimates & PLO Supervisor and work in a respected and supportive team that positively promotes the company.

You will also bring:
- Initiative, accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Confidence and experience with MS Office applications especially Excel.
- Background experience such as: hospital and medical administration roles, customer service roles.
- Knowledge of health insurance benefit tables and medical billing item numbers (desirable).
- Experience using Meditech or other patient administration software (desirable).
