An opportunity currently exists for a two Business Support Officers to join the team at Cairns Private Hospital. Both positions are Permanent Full-Time role (76 hours per fortnight). The successful applicants may work across a 7 day rotating roster. On weekdays, Monday - Friday from 6.30 am until 10.00 pm – Weekend shifts will vary starting at 8.00 am until 8.00 pm. All shifts will consist of 7.6 hours.
Please note hours may vary according to the needs of the business so flexibility is an essential requirement of this role.
About the Role
Reporting to the Patient Administration Manager, you will provide a comprehensive customer focused administration services in all aspects of a busy hospital environment
We are seeking highly organised, enthusiastic professionals with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service to join our respected Administration team. In these roles, you will be responsible for providing quality customer service in the coordination of administration functions associated with hospital admissions as well as assisting in the running of the hospital’s Afterhours GP Clinic
This will involve but is not limited to providing support and assistance to the administrative and clinical teams, patients and relatives, by coordinating the clerical requirements for patients from admission to discharge.
To be successful you will be a well presented individual with highly developed communication and organisational skills and be flexible with shifts. Your strong administration skillset, attention to detail and accuracy, ability to work in a fast paced environment, ability to handle multiple tasks and experience working within a hospital setting will be critical for this role.
You will also bring:
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- High level of competency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Excellent time management skills with an ability to prioritise tasks
- Meditech Patient Management System experience (desirable)
- Understanding of Health Funds, Medicare billing and their applications (desirable)
