We are seeking an experienced and driven Theatre Floor Coordinator at Castlecrag Private Hospital. This is a permanent full time opportunity (76 hours per fortnight)

About the Role

Castlecrag Private Hospital offers progressive, personalised and private care in tranquil surroundings. The hospital’s specialties include plastic and cosmetic surgery, ENT, orthopaedic surgery, dental medical admissions and urology surgery.

As a Clinical Nurse, you will be joining our high performing and energetic team and be responsible for the effective and efficient coordination of clinical services at Castlecrag Hospital. Acting as a professional resource, you will demonstrate broad knowledge in all facets of caring for patients. As a Floor Coordinator you will manage the passage of the patients through the Operating Room department from the Holding Bay to Recovery room. This will involve, but is not limited to;

  • Maintaining a high level of nursing care to all patients within the department;
  • Supervising and supporting all staff within the theatre team, in cooperation with the theatre Manager ; and
  • Coordination of care and services interdepartmentally between, Surgical ward, Theatre, CSSD and Recovery
  • Building strong relationships with staff, offering expert guidance and mentoring with an emphasis on safety, opportunity, education and standards
  • Participate in Quality improvement Programs in line with organisational and departmental strategic plans.

This role will require the flexibility to work across a five-day Morning and afternoon roster.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical skillset working in an acute care setting with experience in Theatre. Your ability to supervise, lead, direct and motivate staff to achieve outcomes, and your well-developed planning, prioritisation and time management skills are critical for this role.

You will also bring:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Minimum four (4) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse with prior experience in Theatre
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrated awareness and participation in quality improvement initiatives
  • Computer literacy A comprehensive knowledge and experience of peri-operative services with sound knowledge of the ACORN Standards

About the Hospital

Castlecrag Private Hospital is a 42 bed acute Surgical/Medical facility, which specialises in Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine, Plastic and Reconstructive, Ear Nose and Throat and Dental Surgery. It also has a 15 bed medical ward that caters for general medical and palliative care admissions.
