Ramsay Health Care (RHC), which was established in 1964, is today Australia’s largest private hospital operator employing more than 30,000 people nationally.  RHC is highly regarded in the health care sector due to its excellent record of patient care and hospital management.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Human Resources professional to join the RHC team of people caring for people, and provide professional HR support to the managers and employees at two of our key Queensland Hospitals at Ipswich and Everton Park. 

Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Working with Executive teams to develop and guide people managers
  • Developing and implement HR Strategies for each site
  • Driving employee engagement initiatives (national and local)
  • Providing industrial/employee relations advice and support whilst ensuring relevant legislation, agreements and policies are complied with;
  • Conducting workplace investigations and providing recommendations/assistance as required;
  • Managing and coordinating the implementation of effective organisational change in line with enterprise agreement and legislative requirements;
  • Recommending and leading new initiatives that align with the organisation’s people strategy, including employee engagement and organisational culture;
  • State or National projects as directed.

The Person

To be successful in this role, you will meet the following criteria:

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in a field-based HR/IR role working with people from all levels of the organisation;
  • Qualifications in HRM or Industrial Relations, or equivalent;
  • The ability to prioritise your time and meet deadlines as required
  • Alignment with the philosophy of ‘The Ramsay Way’
  • Experience in employee relations and complex case management, including disciplinary processes, investigations and grievance resolution;
  • Working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and its application along with experience in leading investigations;
  • A drivers’ license as movement between the two sites will be necessary.

Desirable:

  • Previous HR experience in the health care sector

Requirements

As a part of Ramsay Health Care’s ongoing response to the pandemic and commitment to the health and wellbeing of the community, successful applicants are required to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19 prior to commencement.

Candidates will also be required to provide a current National Police check.
