About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will oversee all operational aspects of care delivery such as bed management, patient flow strategies, compliant clinical service delivery, and doctor engagement.
- Leading a team of professional clinical managers
- Providing effective engagement with our VMOs and medical team to deliver high quality clinical care
- Directly responsible for and encompasses the Quality portfolio
- Ensuring employee engagement and staffing practices
- Accountable for the efficient and effective management of clinical education and support
- Foster a culture within the hospital that embraces quality and strives to continually improve patient and business outcomes.
About You
We are seeking an innovative leader with experience at a hospital management level who is looking to step up to executive management. You will have the ability to meet the challenges and capably manage operational requirements, key stakeholder relationships, and strategic direction of Glenferrie Private Hospital.
This is the perfect opportunity for an emerging Director of Clinical Services (DCS). The successful applicant will regularly collaborate on regional projects with other DCS’s in the Ramsay network and senior executives across the group, providing an excellent structure of peer support, teamwork and professional liaison. The position requires the ability to lead innovation whilst recognising the patient as the central focus within the private healthcare setting.
You will also have the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse with at least 3- 5 years’ experience in senior management positions including as Ward NUM or Perioperative Services Manager.
- Proven ability to successfully lead, manage and motivate clinical services teams by providing strategic direction and positive leadership
- Demonstrated skills in workforce planning, rostering and working within budgeted work hours
- Ability to successfully manage organisational change, financial reporting and KPIs, and quality improvement
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive working relations with a wide range of diverse stakeholders including VMOs;
- Have a passion for people and team motivation
- Formal management qualifications or working towards the same
- Previous experience in successful Accreditation preparation with the NSQHS National Standards
- Excellent understanding of clinical governance principles
- Experience in leading groups and projects, adopting new concepts and facilitating change
- Knowledge and understanding of contemporary clinical risk management strategies that promote and ensure high quality patient care.

Glenferrie Private Hospital has 3 modern operating theatres with the latest equipment, and a purpose-built day surgery facility. We specialise in providing care for private short-stay patients undergoing orthopaedic and specialist surgery. Requirements
Everyone who joins Ramsay:
- Must be vaccinated against Covid-19, including a third dose if required under State health orders
