Operating Theatres – Anaesthetics & Recovery
Permanent Part Time (48 hours per fortnight)
About the Role
An opportunity exists for an experienced Theatre Nurse, with a commitment to clinical education and professional development, to provide mandatory and relevant clinical education to new graduates and theatre staff. You will be joining a progressive, busy unit with a supportive management team and great staff.
This is hands on role requiring an exceptional candidate that can not only deliver formal training but also lead, coach, and inspire others through practical on the job training working alongside our team of clinical employees.
This role will be permanent part time, with the option for additional hours in a clinical capacity within the department if desired.
About You
To succeed in this role you will bring experience within a nurse preceptor or facilitator role with extensive acute Anaesthetics & Recovery experience. You will be a strong problem solver with the ability to manage challenging situations calmly and be able to engage with all of our stakeholders be they medical professionals, patients or other nursing staff. This role is well suited to a passionate mentor driven to see their team members succeed and grow. You will be responsible for providing education to New Graduate Nurses, nurses transitioning into the PACU environment and the ongoing professional development of staff within the department.
You will also bring;
- Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Anaesthetics and Recovery nursing
- Must have Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or working towards
- Post-graduate qualifications in relevant area are highly desired
