About the Role

Peel Health Campus is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse or Registered Nurse to progress their career to become an Educator within our Quest Team in the specialty of Cognitive Impairment.

The Cognitive Impairment Coordinator is responsible for the development, facilitation, implementation and evaluation of educational programs related to clinical practice and management of cognitive impairment including inpatients requiring resources and strategies for nursing and related services. Areas of accountability will include the provision of leadership, clinical standards setting and monitoring, policy development and change management.

The role contributes to, and participates in, the education of all clinical staff through involvement in Hospital orientation, in-servicing and clinical competence programs, and will also make a valuable contribution to the Hospital quality improvement processes.

In this role you will report to the Director of Clinical Services and work closely with a supportive team.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring extensive clinical experience and hold a passion for client care. Demonstrating creative and innovative leadership, you will have the ability to empower staff and foster a culture that is positive, cohesive and supportive.

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • A minimum of four (4) years post registration experience in an acute hospital environment
  • Strong leadership skills and experience leading clinical teams
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and material resources
  • Ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate a continuous improvement program
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Broad knowledge of relevant legislative frameworks impacting on employment and service delivery (e.g. EEO, WHS, Fair Work Act)
  • Computer literacy in all Microsoft Office applications

Candidates who meet the following criteria will be highly regarded:

  • Relevant post-graduate specialty qualifications and/or management qualifications
  • Completion of Preceptorship Program
  • Certificate IV Workplace Training & Assessment
