Owned and operated by Ramsay Health Care, Australia's largest and most respected private hospital operator, Peninsula Private Hospital is a comprehensive 344 bed acute emergency, surgical, medical, cardiac and obstetric facility located in the bayside town of Frankston in Melbourne's southeastern suburbs. The hospital currently accommodates a 14-bay emergency department, 226 medical and surgical, 36 cardiac, 11 ICU, 7 Neonatal, 14 Obstetric, and 30 Oncology beds which include 15 day infusion chairs. The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly experienced Physiotherapist to join our Multidisciplinary Allied Health team in providing Physiotherapy services at Peninsula Private Hospital on a full-time basis with availability to cover a 7-day rotating roster. You will be responsible for clinical caseload management, providing team leadership and supporting the effective delivery of Physiotherapy Services within the Hospital. There will be opportunity to work within Peninsula Private Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit and across campuses. The Role:

  • The Senior Physiotherapist is responsible for working within the physiotherapy department and leading delegated responsibilities to provide best practice patient care, achieve maximal operational effectiveness and develop organizational competencies.
  • Providing a high standard of patients’ assessment, treatment and coordination of services to patients, to facilitate safe, effective, patient centered care.
  • Planning, development, quality and evaluation of evidence-based physiotherapy services across Peninsula Private Hospital.
  • Development, implementation and re-evaluation of protocols, practices and patient care within the scope of practice and in line with the hospital strategic directions.
  • Leading and participating in the development of a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach to achieve optimal patient care and outcomes.
  • Actively challenging traditional models of care, and developing the scope of physiotherapy practice, with the aim of delivering effective clinical outcomes in the most efficient manner.
  • Leading evaluation of the service provided and implementing adaptations and improvements in consultation with Allied Health Manager and Designated Senior Physiotherapy Staff Member(s) as required.
  • Providing clinical leadership and expertise, ensuring the Physiotherapy workload within the team is coordinated, prioritized and fairly distributed across the team and maximizes operational effectiveness.
  • Assuming responsibility for relevant administrative portfolios as directed by the Allied Health Manager and Designated Senior Physiotherapy Staff Member(s) as required.
  • Providing regular high quality clinical supervision to junior physiotherapists, and Allied Health Assistants as allocated.
  • Providing clinical education and supervision for Physiotherapy and other health professional within the hospital.
  • In consultation with the Allied Health Manager, support the recruitment and management of Physiotherapy staff and defined resources, in accordance with the organization strategic directions, operational plans and professional practice to ensure quality and activity targets are met.


Essential Selection Criteria

  • Registration with AHPRA.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years post graduate experience in a hospital setting
  • Demonstrated skills in Critical Care/Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy and management of acutely unwell patients.
  • Sound communication skills within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Sound computer skills in MS Office suite including Excel.
  • Availability to work weekends and public holidays on a roster basis.
  • May be required to work across campuses



  • Experience providing Physiotherapy services in the ICU setting more than 2 years.
  • Experience with staff rostering and department administration.
