The Nurse Unit Manager (Theatre) role is a Permanent Full-time (76 hours per fortnight) role available for experienced senior nurses.

We are seeking an experienced Theatre nursing professional to take on an exciting clinical management role in our Theatre complex at Glengarry Private Hospital.

About the Role

An opportunity exists in our operating theatre department for a Registered Nurse with strong managerial and leadership qualities to lead a professional Perioperative Team. The department comprises of 4 operating theatres, PACU and CSSD.

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be accountable for the efficient and effective management of all human and material resources within the department.

  • The role encompasses planning, implementing and evaluating practices, processes and services within the department to ensure improved patient outcomes.
  • The role requires working with and supporting other managers in achieving excellence in care delivery in line with best practice and legislative requirements.

This fast paced and highly rewarding role reports to the Director of Clinical Services.

 

About You

To succeed in this role you will bring a strong peri-operative clinical skillset in a hospital setting either as a Clinical/Nursing Manager in a similar department or as a senior nurse wanting to step into a management role.

  • You will have exceptional communication skills and have the ability to inspire, motivate and mentor your team.
  • You will be a leader with a passion for seeing your team members succeed and grow while bringing a passion for a high level of client care and service.

 

You will also bring;

  • Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a perioperative nursing environment.
  • Proven knowledge as a senior Nurse or Manager in a similar department or ward (perioperative /anaesthetics)
  • Any management or relevant post-graduate specialty qualifications will be highly regarded.
  • Experience or exposure to managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering and performance management.

 

About the Organisation

Glengarry Private Hospital, owned and operated by Ramsay Health Care Australia, has 113 beds including a palliative care unit, a medical/rehabilitation ward, a surgical ward, a Day Procedure and Endoscopy unit, and an Early Parenting Centre.  Glengarry has four operating theatres and 2 Endoscopy procedure rooms, and is located in the Perth suburb of Duncraig, 15km north of the CBD.

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
