We are looking for someone special who is flexible, highly organised and enthusiastic to join our Accident & Emergency Administrative team.


About the Role

As a team member, you will be at the heart of our administrative operations ensuring seamless coordination and support within our private Accident & Emergency department. Duties include (but not limited to):

  • Adapting and being flexible to assist other areas of the business as needed, including attending the Front Reception and Emergency Reception, or addressing Patient Services inquiries.
  • Welcoming visitors, handling phone and email inquiries with professionalism
  • Checking-in patients and managing ambulance arrivals
  • Handling cash and EFTPOS transactions and providing informed financial consent information
  • processing patient billing and liaising with third parties such as Medicare, DVA and Workcover
  • Verifying fund coverage and generating self-funding quotes.
  • Coordinating with a large and friendly clinical staff team to ensure a smooth patience experience
  • Precise data entry using multiple computer systems to ensure patient information is updated
  • Scanning patient documentation


About You

Your outstanding ability to thrive in both a team and independent work setting, often requiring quick thinking to meet daily challenges in a dynamic environment, is a valuable asset for this role.

You will also bring:

  • Desired Qualification: Ideally a Certificate in Medical Terminology
  • Tech Savvy: Previous experience with hospital mainframe systems and strong computer literacy including proficient keyboard and MS Office.
  • Industry Experience: Previous roles in Hospital, Medical Reception, or Health Fund environments are highly desired
  • Adaptability: Adept at navigating multiple computer systems in a fast paced setting.
  • Keen Eye for Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to work independently
  • Time Management: Skilful at completing tasks within designated timeframes.
  • Flexibility: As the Emergency Department operates 24/7, we require staff that’s able to work a rotating roster inclusive of days, evenings, weekends and night duties.



On offer is base hourly rate ranging from $34.23 per hour + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
