The Opportunity

Clinical coder onsite part time 3 days a week. Reporting to the Health Information Services Manager and working within a supportive team environment, this position will play a pivotal role in undertaking accurate, comprehensive and timely clinical coding for the Hospital.

Essential criteria:

  • Clinical coding qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years hospital medical record coding experience specifically Maternity
  • High ethical standards and adherence to patient confidentiality

 

 

Desirable:

  • Experience in the use of 3M Codefinder software;
  • Knowledge of health fund contracts and Australian Revised Diagnostic Related Groups (ARDRG);
  • Ability to work in a team orientated environment and also able to work independently
  • Sound IT skills
  • Excellent organisational & communication skills;
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise;
  • Commitment to high standards of service through a continuous improvement focus;
