Cardiac Physiologist – Cardiac Catheter Lab

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Cardiac Physiologist (Grade 2 or 3) to join Warringal Cardiac Procedure Centre. 

  • Preferable grade 3 but willing to upskill grade 2.

 

About the Role

In this role you will be working in our two cutting edge Siemens Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories assisting in the provision of a comprehensive suite of cardiac services for our patients.

These services include coronary artery and percutaneous intervention for coronary and non-coronary applications (congenital and structural), advanced electrophysiological studies and ablation with 3D mapping systems, and cardiac device implantation (pacemaker, ICD). 

 

Duties and responsibilities will involve, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in insertion of cardiac devices
  • Operation and interpretation of electrocardiograms and haemodynamic monitoring systems
  • Assist with electrophysiology studies and ablation with opportunities for training and advancement in this specialised area
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and communicate professionally.

 

About You

To be successful in this role you must have the skills to independently monitor haemodynamic values in the cardiac catheterisation laboratory, have advanced knowledge and understanding of the principles of cardiac physiology and electrocardiogram interpretation.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor of Science or Applied Science
  • Advanced knowledge of ECG recording and interpretation
  • Demonstrate experience in all aspects haemodynamic monitoring
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team independently and professionally.
  • Participation in afterhours on-call roster

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Current accreditation with the Australian Council of Clinical Physiology (ACCP)
  • Completed CEPIA/IBHRE training or working towards same
  • Leadership experience and capability
  • Cardiac Catheterisation experience.

 

Remuneration: Grade 2/3 depending on experience according to award.

Requirements
