An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Integration Engineer to join our Integration team on a 2-year fixed-term contract.

Reporting to the Software Development Manager, you will be the technical subject matter expert (SME) and a key technical leader within our integration team, driving the design, development, and implementation of robust integration solutions. Your expertise in API management, healthcare interoperability, and integration platforms will be crucial in enabling seamless data flow across the Ramsay Health Care (RHC) ecosystem.

 

The Role

The Senior Integration Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and implementation of high-quality integration components and modules, using best practices and modern integration patterns.

You will lead technical discussions and provide guidance to the team, ensuring the successful delivery and high availability of our integration solutions. This includes working with APIs, microservices, and modules within the enterprise, leveraging the Apigee, Google Application Integration, FHIR, and Informatica technology stack. You will also be responsible for mentoring and supporting the wider integration team.

 

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical leader for the integration team, guiding design decisions and promoting best practices within the team.
  • Take a hands-on role in the design, development, and implementation of integration solutions using Apigee API Management Platform, Google Application Integration, and Informatica.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality APIs and microservices using the Node.js stack and other appropriate technologies.
  • Drive the implementation of healthcare interoperability standards, including FHIR, ensuring seamless data exchange between systems.
  • Provide expert guidance on integration patterns, data mapping, and transformation techniques.
  • Lead the design and implementation of secure and scalable APIs, using best practices for authentication and authorization.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, sharing knowledge and expertise to foster their growth and development.
  • Participate in the design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, and ongoing maintenance of integration modules and APIs.
  • Contribute to Ramsay's technology transformation by designing and building microservices to reduce time to market.
  • Support the Business and Application Analysis teams with ongoing enhancements to the APIs and Integration Modules.
  • Support the Software Development team in defining integration endpoints and complying with relevant integration policies.
  • Proactively monitor error logs and alerts to ensure all developed APIs and modules are running within agreed SLAs.
  • Provide timely resolution to escalated support requests.

 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Extensive Integration Experience: Significant experience working in a professional application and data integration environment, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality integration solutions.
  • Technical Leadership: Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and guide technical discussions.
  • Apigee API Management Platform Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with the Apigee API Management Platform, including API design, development, and deployment.
  • Google Application Integration Experience: Demonstrated experience and proficiency with Google Application Integration products and services.
  • FHIR Expertise: Deep understanding of healthcare interoperability standards, especially FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources).
  • Informatica Experience: Hands-on experience with Informatica products used for data integration and management.
  • Microservices and SOA Architecture: Strong understanding and practical experience with SOA and/or microservices architecture patterns.
  • API Security: Solid knowledge of securing and managing APIs, including authentication, authorization, and rate limiting.
  • Integration Patterns: Deep understanding of integration patterns and multilayer architectures.
  • CI/CD Practices: Demonstrated experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions.
  • Database Knowledge: Strong SQL knowledge and experience working with databases.
  • Agile Development: Demonstrated experience working within an Agile team using techniques such as Test-Driven Development.
  • Technical Documentation: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in writing technical documentation.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated high level analytical, design, and problem-solving skills within a complex IT environment.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Time Management: Strong organisational and time management skills.

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Multi-Cloud Environments: Experience with multi-cloud environments and service mesh solutions.
  • Industry Standard Tools: Experience with industry-standard tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Relevant Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in computing.

 

This role is offered on a 2-year fixed-term contract basis, and the salary will be commensurate with experience.
