 About the Role                                                                                    

Are you a dedicated Specialist Psychiatrist ready to lead and make a difference? Join us at the Keith Payne Unit, a premier facility focused on providing exceptional care to returned servicemen and women. As the Director of Psychiatry, you will lead a team of Visiting Medical Officers and collaborate with hospital executives to ensure the highest standards of operational and governance requirements are met. This role also offers the exciting opportunity to expand our Tertiary Hospital Consult Liaison services and Psycho-geriatric management.

The Keith Payne Unit is part of Greenslopes Private Hospital, Australia’s largest private teaching hospital. A 700-bed tertiary facility located 5km south of Brisbane CBD with an established reputation for delivering first-class service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Visiting Medical Officers
• Collaborate and advise hospital executives on operational and governance requirements.
• Mentor students and junior medical staff and supervise RANZCP registrars.
• Ensure excellent patient care within the 31-bed inpatient unit.
• Participate in continuous improvement programs and quality activities.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Current relevant registration with AHPRA as a Specialist Medical Practitioner in Psychiatry
• Proven ability to lead and work effectively in a team.
• Experience in an acute mental health care facility.
