About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Health Information Manager to join our Health Information Services team. As the Health Information Officer, you will work closely with the Health Information Manager to ensure efficient management of medical records and health information.

The primary responsibilities include:

• Privacy and release of medical records

• Medical Records Forms management, including preparation for the digital medical record.

• Management of statutory data reporting.

• Data quality management including auditing and data analysis.

• Maintain policy and procedure manuals for the HIS department.

• Assist with education material and training to ensure high quality data and medical records compliance.

• Support when required to the HIS Admin and Clinical Coding teams.

Reporting to the Health Information Services Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to join the Greenslopes Private Hospital Health Information Services team to support key department functions. For more details, please review the attached position description.

 

About You

To be successful in this role you will be a qualified Health Information Manager with highly developed interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.  You will be self-motivated with excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.

Essential Requirements:

• Qualifications: Completion of Bachelor of Health Information Management

• Eligible for full or senior associate membership to HIMAA

• Understanding of Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and its application to release of information in the private health sector.

• Knowledge and experience with Medical Record Form Standard AS2828

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.

• Sound Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills with proficiency in all other standard Microsoft Office products.

Requirements
