The Opportunity
We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our Billings Hub at Lake Macquarie Private Hospital. This role will see you join a high-performing team and develop commercial financial and accounting skill working in an ASX listed group. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong Excel skills who is keen to pursue a career in accounting or finance.
Your key accountabilities of the role will include:
- Assistance with month end accounting including revenue and expense accruals
- Statutory reporting
- Analysis of results
- Billing and management of debtors
- Reconciliation
- Approval of Invoices.
Skills and Experience
- General knowledge of Financial Reporting processes and understanding of general ledger accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable and inventory control;
- Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills;
- Ability to set standards, targets and objectives, and then coordinate work plans to ensure success in meeting same;
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft products, and advanced skills in Excel;
- Proven ability to work independently whilst also contributing to a team and working towards independent, team and organisational objectives; and
- Strong customer service focus.
- Minium Two years’ experience as accounts assistant or assistant accountant
Desirable
- Tertiary Qualifications in Accounting (or currently pursuing)
- Experience with SAP system software
- Previous experience in the healthcare sector
