  • Leadership opportunity for experienced Registered Nurses to join our Orthopaedic Unit at The Avenue Private Hospital

 

About the Role

In this role you will be taking on the leadership of our MacKellar Ward.

MacKellar is a large Unit Specialising in Orthopaedics/ Bariatrics/Plastics / ENT. We provide care to both adult & Paediatric patients.You will be accountable for the efficient and effective management of all human & material resources within the ward. The role encompasses planning, implementing and evaluating all practices, processes and clinical services of the unit.

You will supported by a passionate team of Associate NUM’s while reporting to and utilising the mentorship of the Director of Clinical Services.

 

About You

To succeed in this role you will bring a strong clinical leadership skillset in an acute hospital setting with previous experience as a NUM or ANUM.

You will bring a keen eye for strategic management of clinical staff, financial and material resources along with the capacity to effectively manage bed flow within the ward. Also key will be the capacity to lead and inspire a team of clinical professionals and act as a passionate mentor.

 

This role will suit either an experienced clinical manager or a senior nurse looking to take the step into Unit Management.

 

You will also bring;

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Extensive clinical skills and experience in Orthopaedics and Bariatrics preferred
  • Paediatric experience will be essential for this role.
  • Previous experience in a management position desirable
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate a continuous improvement / risk management program
  • Holding or working towards a tertiary management qualification desirable
  • Post graduate studies in an appropriate specialty area desirable
  • Sound Computer skills in MS Office suite including Excel

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
