Workday Functional Specialist
Full-time | Hybrid
Ramsay Health Care is a leading global provider of private hospitals and primary care clinics, with more than 70 facilities across Australia and a team of over 34,000 dedicated employees. Since 1964, we’ve been committed to delivering exceptional patient care, guided by The Ramsay Way philosophy of “People Caring for People.”
We’re proud to be recognised as an employer of choice, with a strong focus on employee wellbeing, professional development, and long-term career growth. As we continue to grow, we remain dedicated to creating a bright future—for our people and the communities we serve.
The Opportunity
We’re excited to offer a newly created opportunity for a Workday Functional Specialist to play a key role in shaping our people systems landscape. Reporting to the People Systems Manager, you’ll use your deep Workday expertise to support critical business process decisions across the People, Systems & Culture team. You'll contribute to the design and delivery of Workday solutions—across areas such as Core HR, Compensation, and Leave & Absence—and act as a trusted advisor, sharing best practices and helping users get the most out of the platform.
If you’re passionate about Workday and love solving complex problems with practical solutions, we’d love to hear from you!
What you’ll be doing
- Act as a Workday subject matter expert, partnering with key internal stakeholders to gather requirements, propose solutions and lead change initiatives.
- Align business needs with Workday functionality to support planning, process optimisation and system enhancements.
- Review Workday releases for opportunities to improve processes, manage configurations and ensure system changes are scalable and effective.
- Provide day-to-day Workday support alongside system improvements, ensuring data accuracy, security, compliance and well-documented processes.
- Deliver user-training, promote Workday adoption and support testing and integration activities.
- Maintain Workday master data, manage complex queries, and contribute to broader team projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you’ll bring
You’ll be a confident Workday specialist who is as comfortable with system configuration as you are with collaborating across teams. You have a strong foundation in HR processes and a track record of delivering practical, people-focused solutions.
- Proven experience with Workday CoreHR is essential; particularly in managing Supervisory Organisations, Positions and Worker data.
- Exposure to the Compensation module and at least one other Workday functional area (desirable).
- A solid understanding of HR processes and employee data management, with hands-on experience supporting HR systems and operations.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with HR stakeholders, IT, and cross-functional teams—translating technical detail into business language.
- Attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to accurately gather, interpret and respond to business needs.
- The capability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive mindset—you take ownership, embrace accountability and adapt quickly to deliver outcomes that make a difference.
What’s in it for you?
- Enjoy a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, along with access to Ramsay Rewards—our exclusive discounts program with 100+ major retailers.
- Advance your career with free access to LinkedIn Learning, the Ramsay Leadership Academy, and a range of development programs designed to help you reach your full potential.
- We support work/life balance with flexible work options and 24/7 access to our Employee Assistance Program offering confidential counselling and support.
- Join a passionate team committed to making a difference in healthcare, and be part of meaningful work that contributes to the delivery of high-quality care across the industry.
