About the Role

We have a full-time position available for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced administration clerk to join our Business Office Department as a Theatre Bookings Clerk. Joining our team in this opportunity will see you provide comprehensive customer focused service to our surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, staff and secretaries. You will be responsible for all bookings and administrative duties related to the Operating Theatres.

Key responsibilities of this job include (but are not limited to):

  • Accurate management in administration of theatre case bookings.
  • Utilisation of the theatre schedule.
  • Coordinating all theatre requirements for surgeons’ procedural list.
  • Liaising with specialist doctors’ rooms.
  • Provide administrative support to our theatre complex and team.

Our customer focused administration team are responsible for ensuring the seamless patient health journey. The team are here to effectively support all clinical and non-clinical areas of the hospital.

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be an enthusiastic individual with a passion for customer service and strong attention to detail. The ability to converse and be empathetic whilst working amongst a busy flow of incoming and outgoing patients is a key skill needed for this role. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and should be comfortable working in a team of doctors, nurses, pathologists, administrators and non-clinical staff.

This role will suit an individual with proven medical administration experience as this is a fast-paced environment.

You will also bring:

  • Intermediate-advanced skills utilising the Microsoft office suite with ability to maintain data entry accuracy.
  • Previous experience in theatre or hospital bookings (highly desirable)
  • Experience using Patient Information Systems (highly desirable i.e. Meditech)
  • Certificate in Medical Terminology (Desirable)
  • Experience in hospital mainframe systems (Desirable)
  • Experience with Health Fund checks (Desirable)
  • A professional phone manner with experience managing incoming and outgoing calls
  • Proven ability to work in a customer service focused environment

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
