About the role
As a Senior Human Resources Advisor, you'll work closely with managers and staff to support fair, consistent, and people-focused HR practices. Whether you're guiding leaders through challenging conversations or helping shape better workplace systems, your advice will have real impact. This role involves:
Being the go-to for HR advice across everything from recruitment to performance.
Helping leaders navigate employee and industrial relations with clarity and care.
Supporting change initiatives like restructures and role redesigns.
Keeping records and systems accurate, up-to-date, and useful.
Coaching managers to grow their confidence in people leadership.
Promoting a workplace culture where people feel safe, supported, and heard.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who brings more than just technical know-how. You’re approachable, trusted, and calm under pressure – someone who handles sensitive issues with care and communicates HR concepts clearly and practically. You enjoy building strong relationships and you take a thoughtful, solutions-focused approach to challenges. If you thrive in an environment where no two days are the same, and care about helping others grow, this is the role for you.
A degree in HR or a related field (or nearly completed qualifications)
Demonstrated previous experience in a similar HR advisory role
A calm, clear approach to complex IR/ER matters
A working knowledge of awards, enterprise agreements and HR legislation
Great communication skills
A natural ability to juggle competing priorities
Let us know if you’ve worked in healthcare or know your way around systems like Chris21, Workday or PageUp — this experience is beneficial, but not essential.
This role will be predominantly based at our office at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital supporting four sites across the Sunshine Coast region, including remote support of Hillcrest Rockhampton Private Hospital.
