About the Role
Position: General Hand Marshallers [Casual]
This casual role is ideal for those interested in the port industry or looking for extra income. We seek energetic individuals to join our Log Marshalling team at our Wellington Checkpoint. This position involves handling the first point of contact for logging trucks, including ticketing, barcoding, scaling, and preparing logs for export. While prior experience is a plus, it is not required as Qube offers comprehensive training and is dedicated to ongoing development. Enjoy a vibrant and dynamic work environment with us.
Location: Wellington Port
Status: Starting at $32.30 per hour. Once on the job, there is an opportunity to progress to Log Scaling, with an increased rate of $34.61 per hour.
Casual are on a "as and when" required basis. Please note that the workload at the ports can vary. Some weeks may be busy, while others may be quieter. The position involves 12-hour shifts.
Your job duties would be:
- Providing Accuracy and Efficiency in Log Measurements
- To ensure the piece count of the docket matches the number of logs physically in the load.
- To measure the length of at least one log per docket to verify the length is correct.
- To mark each packet with docket information for loader operators (information specified by the Manager).
- To make sure all logs have a ticket on the small end of the log.
- To follow best marshalling practices, SOPs and Company policy.
- To ensure all measuring equipment is in good working order and calibrated
You will also need to:
- Undergo a pre-employment drug screen and medical
- Agree to a Criminal Check and ACC Check
- Have eligibility to work in NZ.
- Drivers license and your own transport
