Your Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the design and delivery of IGO’s target IT operating model across our IT function. This position offers the opportunity to act as design authority for IGO’s shared architecture, patterns and integration standards across our full IT function. Working alongside our data, infrastructure, security and applications leads, you’ll set the reference architecture the function builds against, with a focus on infrastructure as code and on enabling IGO’s agentic, AI-integrated operating model and build the systems that carry our operating model into practice.

Why This Role Matters

This role shapes how IGO’s technology function operates day to day, from the resilience and governance of our infrastructure, to how confidently and safely we adopt automation and AI at scale.

What You’ll Do

  • Design the target architecture across our IT environment, and in partnership with our function leads set the shared standards and reference patterns the function builds against;
  • Partner with our capability leads across data, infrastructure, security and applications to align architecture, share patterns and jointly steward the reference stack;
  • Build the automation and orchestration layer that carries operational load, expressing infrastructure and governance as code;
  • Partner with our data and AI capability to design the reference architecture, integration patterns and platform foundations that support IGO’s agentic, AI-integrated operating model, including open-stack integration and self-hosted model deployment;
  • Lead the redesign of manual operational work into automated, self-correcting systems;
  • Build an IT environment that can scale up or down at short notice;
  • Maintain a consistent, well-governed technical baseline across the environment; and
  • Act as a shared technical resource that uplifts capability across the broader IT function.

What You’ll Bring

In this role you will need to be equally comfortable setting standards and getting into the detail of building against them. We are seeking candidates who bring most of the following experience:

  • Deep, hands-on proficiency across the full IT stack, able to take an architecture from concept to running system;
  • Infrastructure as code and declarative operations; versioned, tested infrastructure and policy-as-code (e.g. Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, GitOps);
  • Depth in agentic and AI-integrated operations to partner effectively with our data and AI team; agent orchestration, LLM integration, retrieval/context engineering, self-hosted model deployment, open-stack integration (MCP) and a data platform such as Snowflake or Databricks;
  • Cloud and platform architecture; identity-first design across Azure/Microsoft (Entra ID, Intune), tenant and landing-zone architecture;
  • Automation and orchestration engineering; CI/CD, event-driven automation and built-in observability; and
  • Security and network architecture; zero-trust, identity-centric design, privileged access/secrets management and software-defined networking.
  • A recent National Police Clearance (within 2 months).
