Provides technical support to clinical faculty and senior veterinary students in the medical and surgical sections of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, including ward and treatment room management, administering treatments and medications ordered by clinical faculty, and animal care administration/management. Special nursing care procedures may include special diagnostic procedures and infection control/isolation management. Assist in other areas directed by supervisor.
Working knowledge of basic companion and large animal anatomy and physiology as a result of courses or experience; ability to understand instructions; ability to handle and restrain all species of animals; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to safely move and handle up to 50 lbs. Rabies prophylaxis will be required (provided by employer).
Licensed Veterinary Technician in Virginia highly desired.
Pay band 3-Salary: Commensurate with experience
The successful Candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check
