This position provides important support to the university’s Office of Gift Planning – the part of Virginia Tech’s fundraising effort focusing on wills, trusts, estates, and other complex deferred and outright gifts. It serves a vital role in processing and managing information about some of the university’s largest gifts – insuring that key stakeholders have the necessary data to manage the university’s pipeline of future support and that donors have necessary documentation from their gifts. This position also provides the opportunity to directly support fundraising efforts, through its assistance with Gift Planning marketing efforts (which includes coordinating responses, maintaining response data, and managing response supplies), its support of gift officers’ work with prospects (which includes scheduling, document and report production, and travel preparation), and its role in the initial handling of incoming donor calls and inquiries.
