We seek a postdoctoral associate in epidemiology to work on the Dog Aging Project, a National Institute on Aging-funded long-term longitudinal study that aims to identify genetic and environmental factors that shape healthy aging in companion dogs. This is the largest study of its kind ever undertaken and the work is highly collaborative and interdisciplinary in nature. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with top-notch researchers and leaders from multiple academic institutions.
The Postdoctoral Associate will be expected to work collaboratively and participate in the development of publications for peer-reviewed journals, as well as on funding proposals to Federal agencies and other entities. The initial appointment will be a one-year appointment with performance-based extension, and will hold the research faculty rank of Postdoctoral Associate. The position is likely to present opportunities for mentorship of graduate or undergraduate students and opportunities for seminars, guest lectures, and other avenues to contribute to intellectual life in the department and the project.
• PhD degree in Epidemiology, bioinformatics, or related field. PhD must be awarded no
more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment with a minimum of one year
• A solid research record evidenced by high quality, first author publications.
• Demonstrated skills in using statistical software packages such as R, Stata, and/or SAS.
• Ability to pursue independent research and a demonstrated capability of mentoring
• DVM or equivalent degree
• Experience participating in multi-disciplinary research teams
• Experience and/or interest in One Health related research
